Poppy Singer - textile conservation expert
Poppy is a graduate of the Textile Conservation Centre/Courtauld Institute of Art's three-year postgraduate diploma course in Textile Conservation.
After training, Poppy took up the post of Textile Conservation Officer at The Museum of London, returning later to The Textile Conservation Centre as Conservator/Tutor.
Since 1988 she has been working in private practice, both independently and from 1989 in association with Annabel Wylie. Together, they were awarded the 1994 Jerwood Conservator of the year award.
Poppy has spent time working at the museum of Islamic art, Qatar and at the Heritage Conservation Centre, Singapore on teaching Fellowships. The workshop has hosted a 1-year, HLF funded ICON internship offering hands-on experience to a newly qualified textile conservator.
Poppy is happy to undertake work, on-site and abroad, as well as in the workroom.
Workroom - NEW
The Essex workroom in Great Bentley is now closed and I have relocated to a workroom in St Albans, where I am currently settling into the new, secure premises, from which I am pleased to be able to offer the same
textile conservation facilities and services as before.
